This library management system runs the library of a school, college or university, a public library or a paid reading room on your own shared hosting: MARC21 cataloguing, a fast OPAC in Hindi and English, issue and return by one barcode scan (by phone, kiosk or offline too), members with cards, fines with receipts and online payment, holds, e-books, journals, purchases and seat-wise reading rooms.

Your whole library on your own hosting

Library Management System runs the library of a school, college or university, a public library, a special library or a paid reading room — one library or many institutions with their branches — on your own shared hosting or a VPS, with one cron line, in Hindi and English on every screen.

Choose your library type after the install and it adds the starter roles, member categories and loan rules. Every feature stays in the one edition; no Composer, and everything works without AI.

Cataloguing and the OPAC

  • MARC21 and Dublin Core records with a simple form for everyday books and the full MARC editor when you need it, versions, duplicates and merge, Hindi and any script.
  • Copy cataloguing by ISBN (Open Library, optional), imports of MARC files (Koha holdings too) and Excel accession registers with a dry run first, MARC and CSV exports.
  • Authority files, DDC / UDC call numbers, spine labels, barcode and QR labels, the accession register, gifts, withdrawals and binding.
  • An OPAC that searches in Devanagari or Latin script, with facets, a kids' corner, a large-text mode, new arrivals, shelf browsing and covers drawn on your own server.

The circulation desk

  • An issue or a return is one scan: due dates follow each branch's calendar and holidays, every loan, return and renewal is written to a ledger, and two desks can never issue the same copy.
  • Holds and bookings with pull lists and the hold shelf; reminders before and after the due date by e-mail, SMS or WhatsApp.
  • A phone works as a desk and a self-check kiosk is included; the desk keeps working offline and sends each scan once when the line is back. Returns are never locked, even without a licence.

Members, fines and payments

  • Member categories and rules, self-registration, family accounts, ID cards, blocks and overrides, clearance (no-dues) slips and the member's own account to renew and pay.
  • Fines follow the rule of the loan, with numbered receipts and waivers only with permission.
  • Online payment through PayU, PhonePe or PayPal on your own merchant account; cash and UPI QR at the desk too.

Digital library, serials, purchases and reading rooms

  • A digital library with access rules, concurrent-use leases and watermarks, and an institutional repository with OAI-PMH.
  • Journals with subscriptions, expected issues, check-in by scan, claims and binding.
  • Suggestions, orders, budgets and funds, receiving and GST vendor invoices; stock verification by scanner and inter-library loans.
  • Reading rooms with seat maps, shifts, monthly fees and attendance.

Reports, smart help and safety

  • Dashboards and reports that help with NAAC / NIRF library data, and scheduled reports. You or your adviser check and file them.
  • Smart suggestions without AI (AI optional), a REST API with keys and webhooks, SRU, and an optional School ERP connector that is off by default.
  • Privacy settings that help with the DPDP Act 2023: retention per data type, members' requests, download my data and the who-did-what export.
  • Roles with branch scopes, approvals, the audit trail, two-step sign-in, backups and signed one-click updates from this store.

Who Library Management System is for

  • School and college libraries, from one room to a university with departmental libraries
  • Public and district libraries with several branches
  • Paid reading rooms and study halls with seats, shifts and monthly fees
  • Special libraries of institutes, offices and trusts

Why buyers choose Library Management System

Changelog

v1.0.3 current 29 Oct 2026
Library Management System 1.0.3.
A look release: the product gets its own logo and icon.
Its own logo (light and dark mode, 640 × 128 px PNG) and favicon (512, 192, 180, 48, 32 and 16 px PNG and SVG) in assets/img/brand/. The live demo shows the full logo in the header; on your site the built-in icon next to your site name, the browser tab icon and the phone app icons are now this product's own icon.
Admin → Settings → Branding: a logo and favicon guide next to the upload fields (size, ratio, format, file size and colours for the logo, the dark-mode logo and the favicon) with the ready-made files to download, in Hindi and English.
v1.0.2 25 Oct 2026
Library Management System 1.0.2.
A licence and name release (it includes 1.0.1, which this store skipped): no change to how the product works.
Licence: the GetXtra Commercial Licence (the LICENSE file) replaces the MIT licence of earlier packages. It is not open source: one licence key per installation from the GetXtra store; no resale, sharing or giving away of the code. Third-party parts keep their own licences.
The developer is now named GetXtra Digital everywhere: the credit "Developer: GetXtra Digital" in the footer and the admin, the licence, the README and the buyer guide. The credit may not be removed or hidden; the Branding switch in Admin, Settings turns off only the "Powered by GetXtra" line.

One edition for school, college, university, public and special libraries and paid reading rooms, one library or many institutions with their branches, on cPanel shared hosting or a VPS with one cron line, in Hindi and English.
The library type chosen after the install sets the starter roles, member categories and loan rules; every feature stays in the one edition.

FAQ

Does it work on shared hosting?
Yes. Plain PHP with MySQL or MariaDB and one cron line; no Composer and no server programs.
Can we bring our old data?
Yes. MARC files (with Koha's holdings), Excel / CSV accession registers and member lists, and School ERP's own library, each with a dry run that shows what will come in before anything is saved.
Is it in Hindi?
Every screen, slip, card, receipt, notice and the OPAC are in Hindi and English, and each person picks the language. Records can be in any script.
What if the internet goes down at the desk?
The desk keeps issuing and returning in the browser and sends each scan once when the line is back; anything that clashed is listed for the librarian.
Is there one price for schools and universities?
Yes — one edition at ₹999.00, one licence per installation. The library type only sets the starters.
Does it file anything for NAAC or GST?
No. It helps with the data: NAAC / NIRF tables, GST on vendor invoices and fee receipts. You or your accountant check and file them.
Does it need School ERP?
No. The School ERP connector is optional and off by default; without it members come by CSV or are added at the desk.
Can members pay fines online?
Yes, with PayU, PhonePe or PayPal on your own merchant account; cash and UPI QR at the desk work too.
