Your own digital newsroom, in Hindi and English
News Portal runs a local news site, a regional newsroom or a newspaper's digital edition on your own cPanel hosting or VPS, under your own domain and brand, in Hindi and English on every screen. Your stories, readers and numbers stay on your hosting.
No Composer, no Node.js and no monthly platform fee: one edition, one licence per installation, one cron line, and it works without AI.
Editions, desks and the workflow
Hindi and English editions (or a city edition) by path or domain, with sections, menus, policy pages and regions down to the district from the built-in gazetteer.
Twelve newsroom roles limited to their editions, desks, sections or regions; desks with working hours, a duty roster and escalation.
Stories move from the reporter to the desk to publishing with per-desk checklists, edit locks, autosave, embargoes, scheduling, two-person rules for sensitive moves and a hash-chained version history with restore.
Corrections, updates, clarifications and retractions are public records, with a corrections log page and feed.
Editor, media and planning
A block editor that types Hindi by transliteration, converts Kruti Dev / DevLys text, cleans text pasted from Word, Docs or WhatsApp and checks your house style.
A media library with captions in both languages, credits, rights expiry, crops, focal points, face blurring, galleries and video.
A news budget, assignments with deadlines in India time, a tips inbox with source protection and an encrypted contacts book.
Agency copy only from feeds you have a licence for (RSS, NewsML, JSON or an FTP drop), with licence rules and attribution; it never scrapes.
A fast public site for readers and search
Edition homes built from blocks, section, region, tag, author and archive pages, "my city" and search in Hindi and English.
Live blogs, the breaking ticker and results boards that update without reloading.
A page cache with tags, CDN purges and pre-warming of breaking stories; news and archive sitemaps, structured data, hreflang, AMP web stories and IndexNow for Google News and Discover.
Self-hosted web push through the browser, newsletters with double opt-in, social posts through the platforms' official APIs, comments with moderation, polls and an installable reader app that keeps stories offline.

Ad slots, direct and house campaigns with pacing, AdSense, release orders and GST tax invoices through the GetXtra GST library, with GSTR-1 data for your accountant.

Changelog
v1.0.2current29 Oct 2026
News Portal 1.0.2.
A look release: the product gets its own logo and icon.
Its own logo (light and dark mode, 640 × 128 px PNG) and favicon (512, 192, 180, 48, 32 and 16 px PNG and SVG) in assets/img/brand/. The live demo shows the full logo in the header; on your site the built-in icon next to your site name, the browser tab icon and the phone app icons are now this product's own icon.
Admin → Settings → Branding: a logo and favicon guide next to the upload fields (size, ratio, format, file size and colours for the logo, the dark-mode logo and the favicon) with the ready-made files to download, in Hindi and English.
v1.0.128 Oct 2026
News Portal 1.0.1.
A fix release for the live demo: the demo's stories now show their lead pictures.
The pictures that the demo's scheduled task draws after the install now show on the public site. Each demo story's lead picture goes into a new published version of the story, as a picture swap does, so the story page, the story cards on the home and section pages and the share picture of social previews show it, right after the first run of the task and again after every nightly demo reset.
Before, the picture was only set on the story's record, which the public pages do not read, so demo stories showed no picture (the e-paper pages were fine).
v1.0.028 Oct 2026
News Portal 1.0.0, the first release of a new product.
A complete digital newsroom on cPanel shared hosting with one cron line, in Hindi and English on every screen, without AI.

A block editor with Hindi transliteration typing, Kruti Dev / DevLys conversion and a media library with rights, credits, crops and face blurring.
Live blogs, the breaking ticker and results boards; a fast public site with a page cache, news sitemaps, structured data, AMP web stories and IndexNow.
Self-hosted web push through the browser, newsletters, social posts through the platforms' official APIs, comments with moderation, polls and an installable reader app.
An e-paper from the print PDF with article areas and clips; ads with release orders and GST tax invoices; analytics, trending and A/B headlines without AI.
It helps with the IT Rules 2021 duties of digital news publishers, the DPDP Act 2023 and GST on ad invoices; a reporter app that files without signal; WordPress import with 301 redirects.
A live demo mode: the installer makes the newsroom Demo Samachar inside one request with a sign-in for every role, its cron line draws the pictures and today's e-paper, reset every night; one-click updates with your licence key.

FAQ
Does it run on shared hosting?
Yes. It runs on ordinary cPanel hosting with one cron line. For push audiences in the lakhs or a big newsroom working at once, a VPS is faster.
Can I move my WordPress site?
Yes. Upload the WordPress export file (or a CSV, Excel or JSON file): stories come in with their dates, categories, tags, authors and featured pictures, and every old address redirects (301) to its new story. A redirect report lists what still needs a redirect. Comments and pages are not imported in 1.0.
Is the reporter app a separate download?
No. It opens in the phone's browser at your site's newsroom app address and installs to the home screen. Stories and photos wait on the phone, encrypted, until there is signal.
Does it copy news from other sites?
No. It never scrapes. Agency copy comes only from feeds you have a licence for, with your licence rules and attribution.
Does it file my GST returns?
No. It helps with GST (release orders, tax invoices, GSTR-1 data); you and your accountant check and file the returns.
Is Hindi available everywhere?
Yes: every screen, message, e-mail, public template and the guide. Each story, section, tag and author has a language; Hindi and English ship in 1.0.
Does it need AI?
No. Trending, related stories, tag suggestions, the best push time and the quality score use rules on your own data. An optional AI booster is planned for 1.1.0.
Are memberships or a paywall included?
Not in 1.0: memberships, the paywall and AMP article pages come in 1.1.0. Every story is free to read in 1.0.
